Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to two actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first television appearances were Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother played the role. Her parents, however, did not permit her to perform until she was an adult due to the effects stress would have on their daughter. Perry, who was too shy for acting in high school, started to act at Northwestern University because she wanted to make new friends. Perry moved to New York, where she got small roles on shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Home sickiness caused Perry back to California, where theater jobs were in demand. She and her mother starred on Broadway with her for the play The Other Place, in 2013. Perry was in the show with the father of her character Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 at The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. In the year 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes of ABC's crime thriller The Family. In 2017, she starred in an recurring role in her own ABC Political thriller Scandal starring her father. The actress also portrayed her younger Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon, an CBS spin-off from The Big Bang Theory. The part was offered by audition regardless of the fact that she has a family tie with the character.
